I have a low maintenance organic garden that I work with my neighbour, and which supplies most of our vegetable needs. I've created this page as a means of tracking its seasonal cycles (phenology).
The veggie patch is ten metres by ten metres square, and is surrounded by a small orchard. It takes surprisingly little work (but lots of chicken, horse and cow poo). Insects aren't a problem because small spine–bills, and wrens constantly harvest them. Snails can get out of control in wetter months, but an otherwise non-toxic snail bait sorts them out.
We also have five chooks to supply our eggs.
That netting around the patch is to prevent wallabies jumping the fence.
